Hot Summer Nights

The toys are special because summer is special! We're more likely to travel--summer vacations aren't just for students! And the weather can be so beautiful, we like to get outside even if we're not exploring the national parks or having some other kind of summer adventure. Getting out of the house, no matter how far you go, means you'll want toys that are portable, that you can charge up in advance, or maybe even ones you can discreetly wear. And summer is also the time for going swimming (or taking cool showers if it's too darn hot), so both waterproof toys and playthings that help keep you cool are especially delightful when the thermometer begins to climb.

Consider a toy that holds a charge for a long time unless you have a long vacay planned. (If you're going to leave the country, do your due diligence about whether you can charge your toys at your destination! You might need an adapter. You probably also want a toy that's fairly light and won't take up too much space when you pack. And look into the vibes with a travel lock feature--it prevents them from switching on in your luggage (that just makes TSA workers nervous, and if they get nervous, they might pull you off the plane!).

Whether it's going to be used in your very own tub or a private watering hole on a scenic creek, you'll want a waterproof toy--or something without a motor, like a silicone dildo, stroker or other plaything. (Remember that water increases friction with toy use and so you'll likely still want to use lube!) If you're in the shower, a splashproof toy will probably do you right, but if your toy is going under the water, waterproof is the way to go. And if the toy is going inside you, make sure the water is clean!
